Now hiring in Metro Vancouver

Real work. Real payroll. Real T4.

Gophers are employees, not gig contractors. You get a proper paycheque with CPP, EI and tax deducted, WorkSafeBC coverage on every hour, and a T4 at the end of the year.

  • Paid every two weeks
  • WorkSafeBC covered
  • A route up, not a dead end

Apply to be a Gopher

Tells dispatch when we can roster you. We schedule the work and let you know ahead of the day.
Red Seal or certificate of qualification? Say so — we are opening electrical, plumbing, gas, refrigeration and sheet metal, and we are looking for the journeypersons to run them. We assess trade work on a real job before your name goes in front of a customer.

We run a criminal record check before a first shift. Having a record does not automatically rule you out — we look at what it was and when.

The ladder

There is somewhere to go from here

Most labour jobs never tell you what comes next, because there is nothing next. These are the roles, and what it takes to reach each one.

1

Gopher

Lifting, carrying, loading, sorting, sweeping and hauling on any of our jobs.

To get here: Show up on time, pass a criminal record check, lift 50 lbs repeatedly.

2

Senior Gopher

The same work, plus the jobs customers ask for by name and same-day Priority calls.

To get here: 500 hours worked, a clean attendance record and no safety incidents.

3

Gopher Pro crew lead

Runs the floor: walks the site, plans the work, keeps the crew moving, reports at the end of the day.

To get here: Proven on site, able to run a crew and talk straight to a customer.

4

Skilled trade

Scoped trade work for our commercial accounts, not general labour.

To get here: Demonstrated skill in carpentry, painting, drywall, tiling or flooring, assessed on a real job.

5

Certified trade

Electrical, Plumbing, Gasfitting, Refrigeration & HVAC, Sheet metal — the trades we are opening, and the ticket that opens them.

To get here: A Red Seal or certificate of qualification — people arrive holding it rather than reach it here. We cannot sponsor an apprentice into these until a certified journeyperson is on payroll to mentor one.

What the work is

Lifting, carrying, loading, sweeping, sorting, hauling. Moves, site cleanups, warehouse shifts, event setups. Physical work, different site most days.

Certified trades

If you hold a ticket, we want to talk sooner

We take general labour and non-compulsory trades today. We do not take electrical, plumbing, gas, refrigeration or sheet metal, because those need certified journeypersons — and for electrical and gas, a contractor licence held in the company's name with a designated Field Safety Representative behind it.

That is the job. The FSR is employed by us and holds the certificate; they do not have to own anything. Come in as the person who opens a trade and you run it, with our dispatch, our insurance, our payroll and our customers already in place.

Put your ticket in the trade field above and a director will call you, not a recruiter.
