Terms of service

Who you are contracting with

Services are provided by Wiserfy Inc., trading as Gophers, in British Columbia. Booking through this site forms an agreement with Wiserfy Inc..

What we provide

General labour and, where booked, skilled trade work, carried out by our employees. Gophers are not independent contractors and are not sub-contracted to you. They work to your direction on site within the limits below.

Work we do not take

We will not perform work that requires a licence, certification or ticket we do not hold. That includes:

  • Work at heights and roofingFall-protection certification and a different insurance class.
  • DemolitionStructural and hazardous-material risk that general labour cannot screen for.
  • Asbestos, mould and hazmatRequires a licensed abatement contractor under WorkSafeBC.
  • Electrical, plumbing and gasLicensed trades only, by law.
  • Confined space entryRequires certification, monitoring and a rescue plan.
  • Heavy equipment operationTicketed operators only — no excavators, forklifts, boom lifts or skid steers.
  • Traffic controlRequires certified flaggers and a traffic management plan.
  • Security and crowd controlRequires a BC security licence.
  • Healthcare and personal careRequires regulated care credentials.
  • Food deliveryDifferent regulatory regime for engaged-time pay in BC.

If a job turns out to include any of it, the crew will stop that portion of the work and tell you. We will not send someone into work they are not qualified for because it was already booked.

Booking, hours and minimums

  • General labour has a 3-hour minimum per booking; skilled trades have a four-hour minimum.
  • Beyond the minimum, work is billed by the hour. Hours are logged on site and sent to you to approve.
  • Additional hours are only worked with your approval and are billed at the same rate.
  • Our Standard rate requires 24 hours notice. Inside that window a booking is Priority or above and cannot start before 09:00.

Prices and tax

  • Quotes shown on this site are estimates based on what you tell us. The invoice reflects hours actually worked and, for disposal, actual weight.
  • Our hours are 9am–9pm on weekdays and 9am–5pm on weekends. A job starting outside those hours is charged at +50%. There is no separate weekend charge.
  • Disposal is charged by weight from the transfer station scale ticket, minimum $49.99 per run, at $0.39/kg for general waste.
  • GST of 5% is added to all charges.

Payment

Nothing is charged at the time of booking. Once you approve the hours, home bookings are invoiced for immediate payment and business accounts are invoiced on net 15 terms. Materials and disposal fees we pay on your behalf are billed as set out above.

Cancellation

Free with 12 hours notice. Inside 12 hours, or if the crew arrives and cannot start through no fault of ours, the 3-hour minimum is charged — the Gophers are on payroll and have turned down other work.

Access, safety and your site

You are responsible for safe access to the site and for telling us about hazards before the crew arrives. The crew may stop work if the site is unsafe. Please tell us about anything of unusual value or fragility before it is handled.

Liability

We carry liability insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage for our employees. Claims for damage must be reported within 48 hours of the work so we can investigate while the facts are fresh. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the BC Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot be waived by agreement.

Privacy policy

What we collect

  • When you get a quote or book: your name, email, phone, company if given, the site address and what you tell us about the job.
  • When you apply to work with us: your name, contact details, city, availability, experience and any tickets you list.
  • Automatically: ordinary web server logs. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.

Why we collect it

To quote the work, dispatch a crew, contact you about the job, invoice it, and keep the records a BC employer is required to keep. If you give us an email part-way through a quote we may use it to follow up about that quote. We do not sell personal information.

Who sees it

Our dispatch staff, the crew assigned to your job, and service providers who host the site, send our email and process payments. Data is stored on servers in Germany and may be processed by service providers outside Canada, which means it can be subject to the laws of those countries.

How long we keep it

Booking and invoicing records are kept as long as tax and employment law requires. Quote enquiries that never become bookings are kept for two years. Unsuccessful worker applications are kept for one year unless you ask us to remove them sooner.

Your rights

Under BC's Personal Information Protection Act you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent for future contact. Email wedig@gophers.app and we will respond within 30 days.
